“My current research is concerned with the effects of digital communication and digital media use on adolescents’ and adults’ well-being. I focus among other topics on political communication, media stereotypes and online hate speech as well as the consequences of digital media use for individuals’ physiological, mental, and social well-being.”
I applied for the position as tenure-track assistant professor at KU Leuven, because KU Leuven is a leading academic institution in Europe and the Leuven School of Mass Communication Research (SMCR) represents a pioneering institution for media effects research. I could not envision an environment that would be more stimulating and would provide a better match for my research interests than a position in Digital Media Effects at KU Leuven. I am delighted to have the opportunity to pursue my research and teaching in such an excellent and international environment.“
In the academic year 2020/2021, she will teach the courses “Research Design in Communication Science”, “Production and Consumption of Digital Media” as well as “Expert Simulation: Media Psychology”.
